Mandarin Oriental Presents A Luxury Taste of Fruits

The beginning of a new season is always the best time to tempt our taste buds with some special culinary offerings. While the summer is imminent, let us embrace the summer heat with an array of gastronomic delights made with tropical fruits at the following Mandarin Oriental hotels in Asia.

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore

Inspired by the Pacific Ocean and rich culture of Asia’s ports, MO Bar presents a vibrant experience that celebrates the flavours and aromas of the region. The majestic signature cocktail, Sarimanok is a grand orchestration of croissant fat-washed rum, mango, peach and kombucha. Artfully presented by the talented team, it is inspired by the mythical rooster in Lanao, Philippines, atop this modern interpretation of a daiquiri sits a canvas of bold colours made of edible rice paper perfumed with vodka spritz.

A tiki-styled tipple Rubi is a velvety combination of creamy pineapple, whisky and toddy. Enhanced further with a unique profile of dark coconut rum, chilli and a zing of citrus, it will whisk the guests’ taste buds to tropical paradise.

MO Bar is bestowed with the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award and is named as one of the region’s best bars from the Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy.

Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo

Go tropical this season with a fruity Afternoon Tea “Exotic” at Oriental Lounge of Mandarin Oriental Tokyo. Sweets and savouries made with colourful tropical fruits include Corn Polenta with Squid and Mango, Lemon Scone and Pistachio-Coconut Financier, Meringue with Mango Mousse and Ginger Cream, and Vanilla and Kiwi Tart. Located on the 38th floor of the hotel, the lounge offers picturesque views of Nihonbashi elevating the dining experience.

In addition, the signature KUMO® now in mango flavour is available at Gourmet Shop this summer. Crafted by Executive Patisserie Chef Stephane Tranchet, this signature cake changes its flavour based on the season. Coated in crisp white chocolate, the cake is filled with plenty of mango mousse. Guests would be impressed by the texture of fresh mango and mango jelly, and the acidity of passion fruit and ginger cream inside the cake. Mango Maritozzo curated by Head Baker Tomohiko Nakamura will be the alternative of guests, which is a brioche dough with mango creams and the mango on top.
