Where Heritage Meets Reinvention: Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort Presents Les Artistes Series 2026 by French Artist Adeline Scherman

A Two Month-Long Cultural Journey Exploring the Space Between Heritage and Reinvention

Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, the iconic beachside retreat which is nestled in a secluded cove on Phuket’s sunset coast proudly announces the return of its signature cultural initiative, Les Artistes Series 2026, featuring an exclusive month-long exhibition by French artist Adeline Scherman.

Building on the success of the inaugural Les Artistes by Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort exhibition in 2023, which brought together nine talented Phuket-based artists and showcased more than 30 original artworks, the initiative attracted art enthusiasts, resort guests, and members of the local community while reinforcing the resort’s commitment to celebrating culture, creativity, and meaningful connections through art. The exhibition also served as a platform to support the local community, with a portion of artwork sales contributing to charitable causes benefiting underprivileged children and families in Phuket.

Opening at the resort’s Similan Lounge, the exhibition invites guests and visitors to discover a captivating collection of works inspired by centuries of artistic exchange across Asia. Through vivid colors, intricate symbolism and contemplative compositions, Scherman’s works explore the dialogue between heritage and reinvention, tradition and contemporary expression.

Born in Versailles, France, Adeline Scherman began her professional journey as a researcher in regenerative economics before embarking on extensive travels throughout Asia. Following ancient cultural routes that connected civilizations for centuries, she journeyed from Sri Lanka and Indonesia to China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal, and Central Asia, immersing herself in the artistic traditions of each destination. Along the way, she trained with master artisans in Uzbekistan, China, and Nepal, developing a distinctive artistic language that bridges cultures, histories, and visual traditions.

Presented under the theme “Exploring the Space Between Heritage & Reinvention,” Les Artistes Series 2026 showcases three compelling collections: The Tea Horse Road, Inscape, and Blue Botanic. Each series reflects Scherman’s fascination with cultural transmission, sacred symbolism, and the enduring connections between people, places, and artistic traditions.

Drawing inspiration from Ottoman tempera techniques, Tibetan thangka painting, Chinese artistic influences, and contemporary European aesthetics, Scherman creates works that transcend geographical boundaries. Her paintings invite viewers into contemplative spaces where memory, identity, spirituality, and cultural exchange converge.

“At Le Méridien, we believe travel is enriched through meaningful cultural experiences,” said [Mr. Julian Lowry], General Manager of Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort. “Les Artistes Series reflects our commitment to unlocking destinations through art and creating opportunities for our guests to engage with inspiring creative voices from around the world. We are delighted to welcome Adeline Scherman and present her remarkable work to Phuket’s vibrant cultural community.”

As part of Le Méridien’s commitment to celebrating culture and creativity, Les Artistes Series transforms the resort into a platform for artistic discovery and cultural exchange. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Adeline Scherman’s artistic journey, uncover the inspirations behind her collections, and experience a unique blend of Eastern and Western influences. Selected artworks will also be available for purchase.

Set along Phuket’s most expansive secluded beach, Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort continues to champion meaningful cultural experiences that connect guests with both local and international creative communities.
