Thailand Privilege Card Reinforces Security Screening Standards for Long-Term Foreign Residents Through Collaboration with Five Key Government Agencies
the world’s leading provider of premier residency programs and exclusive privilege services for international residents in Thailand, firmly endorses Thailand’s national policy to promote high-value tourism by attracting more high-quality foreign nationals seeking residency in Thailand, with particular emphasis on collaborative security screening measures implemented in partnership with relevant government agencies to uphold national security, prevent transnational crime, and further solidify Thailand’s position as a trusted, world-class destination for long-term residency.
The primary goal of these ongoing efforts is to increase the number of High-Net-Worth Individual (HNWI) foreign nationals participating in the residency program, alongside the enforcement of more stringent security screening measures and rigorous qualification verification processes through strategic collaboration with five key government security agencies: the Immigration Bureau (IB), the Foreign Affairs Division of the Royal Thai Police, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO).
In this regard, TPC President, Mr. Manatase Annawat, was quoted as saying, “The past 23 years stand as a testament to TPC’s enduring commitment to attracting an increasing number of high-potential international residents who have not only contributed substantially to Thailand’s tourism economy and global reputation, but have also helped strengthen Thailand’s image as a world-class destination for long-term residency and as one of the world’s safest destinations.”
“In view of national safety and security, this unprecedented collaboration with five major government agencies enables us to elevate our screening standards in alignment with international benchmarks for assessing potential long-term foreign residents, with the objective of preventing domestic offenses within the Kingdom as well as transnational crime.”
“Essentially, this milestone also reflects the power of public-private partnership in strengthening trust among Thai society, international residents, and the global community, while further establishing Thailand’s reputation as a secure and trusted destination.”
At the same time, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chanannat Sarntawanpas, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division, Central Investigation Bureau, also commented in his statement that, “In an era where crime has become increasingly complex and interconnected across borders—particularly technology-related crime in the digital age—data integration and inter-agency collaboration are essential to effective crime prevention and suppression.”
“This partnership with Thailand Privilege Card strengthens our ability to identify and prevent individuals who may pose risks related to cybercrime and technology-enabled offenses that could affect both Thai citizens and international residents. We will continue to operate in strict compliance with relevant legal frameworks to ensure that Thailand remains a safe and secure destination for all.”
In a related statement, Pol. Maj. Gen. Prasat Khemaprasit, Commander of Immigration Division 1, remarked that, “Immigration Division 1, under the Immigration Bureau, is primarily responsible for providing services to foreign nationals residing in Bangkok, as well as reviewing temporary stay applications for foreigners wishing to reside in the Kingdom.”
“In fulfilling this mandate, individuals granted permission to stay in Thailand must meet the qualifications prescribed under the Immigration Act. In addition, we work closely with relevant agencies throughout the approval process and in facilitating services for foreign nationals. All operations are carried out in strict compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and official directives in order to strengthen safety and security standards, which are fundamental to maintaining national order and stability.”
To further reinforce the initiative, Pol. Maj. Gen. Apimuk Kantayagorn, Commander of the Immigration Technology Center, Immigration Bureau (IB), added that, “The Immigration Technology Center, under the Immigration Bureau, serves as the principal agency responsible for managing immigration databases relating to the entry, exit, and residency records of foreign nationals in the Kingdom, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and international protocols.”
“The Center also works closely with relevant agencies through integrated data-sharing systems to monitor and screen undesirable individuals. The Immigration Bureau remains committed to continuously enhancing its foreign national screening procedures through stringent and comprehensive measures, while maintaining convenience for long-term residents. For example, foreign nationals granted long-term residency privileges are required to complete a 90-day notification of stay, which may be submitted online.”
Today, Thailand Privilege Card serves more than 40,000 members from over 50 nationalities worldwide, reflecting Thailand’s enduring appeal as a premier destination for high-quality long-term residency. Beyond supporting the nation’s high-value tourism economy, the program also plays a strategic role in positioning Thailand as a trusted, secure, and welcoming second home for global citizens.
