Las Vegas Sands Breaks Ground on US$8 Billion Ultra-Luxury Integrated Resort in Singapore
Las Vegas Sands has officially broken ground on its new US$8 billion ultra-luxury resort and entertainment destination in Singapore, a landmark development poised to redefine luxury tourism in the region. The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Tuesday evening, was attended by Singapore’s Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Lawrence Wong; Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Grace Fu; as well as key Las Vegas Sands executives including Co-founder Dr. Miriam Adelson, Chairman and CEO Robert Goldstein, and President and COO Patrick Dumont.

Designed by the renowned Safdie Architects, led by Moshe Safdie—the visionary behind the iconic Marina Bay Sands—the new resort will feature a 55-storey luxury hotel tower with 570 suites, signature rooftop and dining venues, high-end retail boutiques, a gaming area, and a comprehensive range of wellness and spa facilities. The tower, angled at 45 degrees to maximize panoramic views of Marina Bay and the Singapore Strait, will be crowned by a striking 76,000-square-foot Skyloop. This architectural centerpiece is characterized by its twin elliptical volumes that spiral in opposite directions, offering a dynamic visual identity.

Adjacent to the hotel, a multi-level podium will house approximately 200,000 square feet of premium meeting and convention space. Anchoring the podium is a state-of-the-art, 15,000-seat arena designed by global firm Populous, set to become a major venue for live entertainment and events in Asia.
Sustainability will play a central role in the new development, aligning with Las Vegas Sands’ global Sands ECO360 strategy. The resort will incorporate biophilic design principles inspired by Singapore’s lush urban greenery and will feature an extensive range of environmentally friendly amenities.
More than 220 guests attended the groundbreaking ceremony, which included live performances by Singaporean artist Jasmine Sokko and Canadian singer-songwriter Henry Lau. As part of Singapore’s SG60 celebrations, Marina Bay Sands also premiered Nothing Comes by Chance, a specially commissioned film directed by Kirsten Tan and starring notable Singaporean talents such as Tan Kheng Hua, Quah Zheng Wen, Pierre Png, and Jasmine Sokko.
Upon completion, the new development is expected to elevate Singapore’s global profile in luxury hospitality and entertainment, further cementing the city-state as a premier destination for discerning travelers and global events.
