BRICS House Expands Its Presence in Southeast Asia with the Official Opening of Its Thailand Headquarters in Phuket Establishing a new platform for business cooperation and regional connectivity in Southeast Asia
BRICS House, the International Public and Business Centre, officially opened its Thailand headquarters in Phuket, one of the region’s key economic and tourism hubs. The opening marks an important milestone in the organization’s expansion of its international infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
Mr. Sergey Ladochkin, President of BRICS House, said the decision to establish the headquarters in Thailand reflects the country’s strategic position as a central hub of Southeast Asia and a key connector among the 11 countries in the region. He expressed confidence that Thailand will become a major platform for cooperation and exchange among BRICS and BRICS+ member countries.
The mission of BRICS House in Thailand is to create a unified international business ecosystem, with a focus on promoting investment activity and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. At the same time, the centre aims to advance humanitarian goals, contribute to the growth of tourism, and open new channels for professional and cultural exchange between countries.
The opening ceremony was held at the future headquarters site on Coconut Island, Phuket. The headquarters will be located within the five-star Island Escape by Burasari resort and is expected to open within approximately 18 months. The centre will be developed to welcome official delegations, host meetings and strategic negotiations, and serve as a venue for private business events, international presentations, exclusive sessions, and multilateral cooperation forums.
On this occasion, Mr. Sergey Ladochkin, together with Mr. Andrey Polyakov, Representative of BRICS House in Thailand, and Ms. Lily Udomkunnatum, Founder and Managing Director of Burasari Group, joined a ceremonial blessing for the auspicious commencement of the project. Distinguished guests and Buddhist monks were present to witness the occasion. A palm tree planting ceremony was also held as a symbol of growth, prosperity, and the long-term vision of the project on Thai soil.
Following the ceremony, the official opening of the office took place. Mr. Andrey Polyakov was formally appointed as Head of BRICS House in Thailand, underscoring Thailand’s strategic importance to the organization’s regional development. Meanwhile, Ms. Lily Udomkunnatum, Founder and Managing Director of Burasari Group, was appointed as Business Ambassador of BRICS House, in recognition of her role and contribution to strengthening international business relations.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives from various sectors, reflecting the role of BRICS House as an important platform for global dialogue and cooperation. Guests included the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Thailand, the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Thailand, the Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, representatives from financial institutions and international hotel groups, as well as leading business figures from Thailand and the wider region.
The opening of BRICS House in Thailand marks the organization’s second branch in Southeast Asia within one month, following the recent launch of its representative office in Cambodia. The consecutive openings in Cambodia and Thailand reflect the establishment of a systematic infrastructure for international cooperation, designed to build business and cultural bridges among BRICS+ countries.
Mr. Sergey Ladochkin, President of BRICS House, further emphasized the role of the new platform, stating: “BRICS House is a structure for public diplomacy and soft diplomacy. Our main mission is to bring friendly countries closer together and contribute to the development of a multipolar world. BRICS House is, in essence, a common home for countries that maintain friendly relations with Russia and the BRICS+ countries.”
