Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan Redefines Modern Luxury on the New Bund

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) proudly announces the opening of Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan, the brand’s second property in Shanghai and fifth in China. Located along the southern stretch of the New Bund in Pudong, the hotel offers sweeping riverfront views, direct access to Qiantan Park, and a serene urban retreat just minutes from the city’s heart.

“With Hilton’s long-standing presence in China, we are delighted to bring Waldorf Astoria’s timeless elegance to the emerging Qiantan district,” said Alan Watts, President, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “This opening reflects our confidence in the future of luxury travel in China.”

Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) and Cheng Chung Design (CCD), the property blends Shanghai’s Art Deco heritage with contemporary refinement. It features 204 spacious rooms and suites, many with private balconies and river views, while select suites offer outdoor jacuzzis.

Dining highlights include Arame, serving modern European cuisine with local flair; Fu Cheng, led by Michelin-starred chef Justin Yang, offering refined Min cuisine; and the elegant Peacock Alley, inspired by the iconic lounge at Waldorf Astoria New York.

Wellness facilities include a 25-meter indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, and tranquil treatment rooms, complemented by riverside jogging trails and yoga sessions. The hotel is also moments away from cultural landmarks such as West Bund Art Museum, Tank Shanghai, and Long Museum.
