The Precision of Purpose: Phoom Chirathivat and the Next Chapter of Thai Hospitality
Within the 77-year business legacy of the Chirathivat family, which has grown alongside Thai society, Phoom Chirathivat has emerged as a new generation of leadership defined by discipline, clarity, and intent. As Head of Hotel Business at Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN), he brings a leadership philosophy grounded in structure and precision—shaped by his experience at L Catterton, the global private equity firm under the LVMH Group, and further refined through his work in strategic hospitality investments.
For Phoom, leadership begins with discipline. As a listed company, every investment decision must deliver reasonable long-term returns while balancing risk, sustainability, and scale. Yet, he does not view hotels as standalone real estate assets. Instead, each project is conceived as a strategic component of a broader urban ecosystem, enhancing economic value while elevating the quality of life for both travelers and local communities.
This ecosystem-driven approach is closely tied to his belief that sustainable growth must advance in parallel with society. A clear example can be seen in CPN’s hotels across Thailand’s Northeastern region, which partner with the Pimali Hospitality Training Center—a vocational institution supporting orphans and underprivileged youth. Through hands-on training and long-term career pathways, these hotels become platforms of opportunity, translating business growth into tangible social impact.
One of the most defining milestones under Phoom’s leadership is the creation of GO Hotel, a “Premium Budget” brand designed to move beyond conventional price competition. Rather than focusing solely on affordability, GO Hotel is built on a deep understanding of consumer behavior and local demand. Its guiding concept–Happy Stay, Total Convenience, Full Comfort, and Unbeatable Value—is informed by real consumer insights drawn from The 1 loyalty ecosystem, Central Group’s data-driven platform.
Technology plays a critical role in translating insight into execution. AI-powered real-time pricing systems allow GO Hotel to respond dynamically to demand, while thoughtful design choices—from oversized 6.5-foot beds and blackout curtains to pet-friendly rooms—ensure that value is felt not only in price, but in experience. The ambition is clear: to consistently deliver a near 4–5-star experience at an accessible price point, setting a new standard for premium budget hospitality in Thailand. Currently, Go Hotel is experiencing steady growth with increasing occupancy rates across all locations. The brand has received excellent feedback from tourists, business travelers, and pet-loving families seeking a clean, convenient, and comfortable stay that offers great value in prime locations adjacent to shopping centers.
This philosophy is exemplified by GO Hotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, the brand’s first flagship property. Located in Ladkrabang, a high-potential gateway district near Thailand’s primary international airport, the 179-room hotel serves a diverse mix of domestic travelers, international tourists, airline crews, stopover passengers, and business guests. It is positioned not merely as an airport hotel, but as a strategically integrated asset within a growing travel and logistics corridor. In addition to the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport location, GO Hotel is presently operating in four other strategic hubs: Bowin, Ban Chang, Sriracha, and Chonburi.
Looking ahead, CPN has outlined a five-year strategy to expand its hotel portfolio by approximately five new properties per year, with total investments exceeding THB 1.85 billion and a nationwide capacity target of more than 1,500 rooms. In 2026, the expansion gains further momentum with the launch of five additional properties in Khon Kaen (April), Nakhon Sawan (May), Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, and Ayutthaya. Our strategic goal is to reach 25 locations nationwide within five years. In the long term, we plan to expand across all 77 provinces to meet every travel need and actively support domestic tourism. The focus extends beyond scale to include secondary cities and emerging destinations—markets where hospitality can play a catalytic role in economic and social development.
Beyond the boardroom, Phoom is known for his passion for adventure motorcycling, often riding into remote regions to immerse himself in local environments and uncover new perspectives. Complementing this is his commitment to mindfulness and meditation, practices he views as essential to clarity and focus. As he has reflected, without mindfulness, losing direction—or control—is inevitable.
For Phoom Chirathivat, progress is not defined by speed alone. True leadership lies in knowing when to accelerate, when to pause, and how to move forward with stability, purpose, and precision. In shaping the next chapter of Thai hospitality, his vision is clear: a nationally integrated travel market where quality, consistency, and thoughtful design are not privileges of major cities, but expectations across the country.
