Taiwan Travel Fair 2026 Features Exclusive Deals and Mazu Blessings
“Taiwan the Lucky Land” Invites Thai Travelers to Revisit Taiwan!
The period from October to December marks the peak outbound travel season for Thai tourists. To capture the target audience planning visits to Taiwan during the fourth quarter, as well as over the year-end and New Year holidays, the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (M.O.T.C.) of Taiwan, led a delegation of 68 representatives from 34 tourism-related agencies and industry enterprises to Thailand. The delegation hosted a series of promotional events in Bangkok and Chiang Mai from September 17 to 23, 2026.
The flagship event, the Taiwan Travel Fair 2026, was held at EMSPHERE in Bangkok to showcase Taiwan’s diverse tourism highlights and themed offerings. The fair also incorporated Taiwanese cultural traditions by temporarily enshrining Goddess Mazu from Nanya Temple, highlighting Taiwan’s faith-based tourism. In parallel, the event promoted the “Secondary Incentive Measures for Repeat Overseas Visitors” under the dual-track tourism drive, which drew significant attention and continuous inquiries from attendees. Following the fair, B2B Business Matching events were held in both Bangkok and Chiang Mai. This dual-city marketing strategy aims to expand business opportunities and comprehensively reach the Thai market.
Held from September 18 to 20 at EMSPHERE, the Taiwan Travel Fair 2026 combined exhibition displays with product sales. In collaboration with airlines, travel agencies, and credit card companies, the fair offered exclusive promotions and special deals to boost sales of Taiwanese travel products and packages. Renowned Thai influencers with over a million followers were invited to share their travel experiences across four key themes: lifestyle, culture, food, and gender diversity.
To highlight Taiwan’s temple and blessing culture, a replica statue of Goddess Mazu—originally brought from Nanya Temple in Changhua, Taiwan 20 years ago and currently enshrined at the Nan Yao Ma Cho Keng Shrine in Thailand—was temporarily placed at the event, drawing large numbers of Thai visitors to offer prayers and pay their respects. Guests also enjoyed performances by Taiwanese groups Liu Sheng Ji and Fun To Art, alongside popular Thai band Serious Bacon. Attendees were also treated to authentic Taiwanese treats, including peanut ice cream rolls and Chiayi chicken rice, offering a complete immersion into Taiwan’s charm.
To enhance tourism cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand and reach regional traveler markets, the Taiwan Tourism Administration organized B2B Business Matching events at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit on September 21 and at the InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping on September 23. Both sessions achieved remarkable success, attracting approximately 200 representatives from top Thai travel agencies, airlines, and media outlets, resulting in over 5,000 business negotiations. This strongly cemented industry partnerships between the two nations and laid a solid foundation for boosting inbound travel to Taiwan.
To sustain travel momentum, the Taiwan Tourism Administration is targeting key market segments, including repeat travelers, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions), incentive travel groups, and fan communities, while introducing enhanced promotional incentives. With over 70% of Thai tourists traveling as Free Independent Travelers (FIT), the support scheme titled “Revisit Taiwan for Double the Luck,” specifically designed for repeat FIT travelers, is scheduled to officially launch on October 1. The advance promotion at the Taiwan Travel Fair 2026 generated enthusiastic inquiries and created a vibrant buzz across digital platforms.
Supported by visa-exempt entry, short flight durations, and a safe, convenient travel environment, Thailand remains a key priority market under Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy. Ms. Cindy Chen, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration Bangkok Office, stated that the office will step up promotions through various channels—including subway media, outdoor digital displays, elevator advertising in office and commercial buildings, and digital platforms. Key highlights include the support scheme for repeat travelers, the “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) promotion, and the Taiwan Pass. Additionally, joint promotions with airlines offering tourist SIM cards will be rolled out to encourage more Thai travelers to choose Taiwan, driving sustainable growth in inbound tourism.
