Savour the Season: “Miang Kham” Morsels Arrive at Ruenton, Celebrating Thailand’s Seasonal Bounty and Reimagined Thai Heritage Flavours

Welcoming the arrival of Thailand’s rainy season in flavourful style, Montien Hotel Surawong Bangkok embraces the season’s abundance of vibrant herbs, fresh produce, and bold local flavours with the introduction of Miang Kham Morsels — the latest culinary offering at Ruenton Restaurant, thoughtfully complementing the restaurant’s celebrated selection of authentic Thai cuisine.

Available daily for lunch and dinner from now until 31 July 2026, the beloved Thai appetiser Miang Kham deeply rooted in traditional recipes is celebrated for its harmonious balance of fragrant herbs, delicate sweetness, gentle spice, and savoury depth, all enjoyed within a single bite. Light yet flavourful, the dish presents a refreshing culinary experience particularly suited to Thailand’s rainy season.

Inspired by ingredients at their seasonal peak during Thailand’s rainier months, each Miang Kham morsel is composed of carefully selected condiments and herbs that not only contribute layers of flavour and texture, but also carry nutritional benefits long associated with Thai cuisine. Fresh ginger lends warmth and aids digestion, while shallots provide natural antioxidants and aromatic sharpness. Lime adds brightness alongside vitamins, while roasted coconut brings subtle nuttiness, rich in healthy natural energy. Combined with peanuts and an assortment of fresh herbs, every bite delivers a vibrant interplay of taste, texture, and nourishment.

For those seeking a more elevated dining experience, guests may further enhance their Miang Kham with the addition of grilled river prawns or premium crab meat offering a distinctive and indulgent interpretation of this timeless Thai favourite.

Beyond Miang Kham, diners may also savour an enticing selection of seasonal Thai favourites from Ruenton’s à la carte menu. Highlights include traditional pomelo salad with grilled white prawns, Thai-style crab meat omelette, wok-fried river prawns with tamarind sauce, and aromatic green curry served with jasmine rice. To conclude on a sweet note, classic Thai desserts such as Lod Chong pandan rice flour droplets in coconut milk and Bua Loy with taro dumplings and young coconut in coconut milk offer a delicately comforting finale to the meal.

Rooted in Thai culinary heritage yet thoughtfully presented for contemporary dining, Miang Kham Morsels invites guests to savour the refreshing essence of the rainy season, one flavourful bite at a time. Ideal for convivial dining and sharing among family and friends, the offering reflects the spirit of warm Thai hospitality through flavours designed to be savoured together.

Available daily for lunch and dinner at Ruenton Restaurant, Miang Kham is priced from THB 280++ per set, ideal for sharing.
