Roger Parnow has been appointed Multi-Property General Manager at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse and Le Méridien Bangkok, effective 1 June 2026. In this role, he assumes responsibility for the leadership, strategic direction, and overall performance of these two distinguished properties.
Having worked in Thailand for nearly 20 years, Roger brings extensive operational and commercial expertise, a deep understanding of the local market, and a collaborative leadership approach. Passionate about developing people and fostering high-performing teams, Roger is committed to creating memorable guest experiences while driving long-term success for both properties.
Guests at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse and Le Méridien Bangkok will not be short of things to see or do. The road itself is home to the century-old Neilson Hays Library, the colonial-style British Club and the flagship store of Jim Thompson, the iconic Thai silk brand, while the Bangkok Folk Museum, Tang Contemporary Art Bangkok and Warehouse 30 are just a short taxi or Tuk-Tuk ride away. Neighbouring Silom, the Bang Rak riverside district and Bangkok’s Chinatown are also within easy reach, while multiple BTS Skytrain and MRT subway connections provide convenient access to the rest of the city.
“My first impression of Surawong was how authentic it feels,” Roger shares. “It is a neighbourhood full of character, where history, culture and contemporary city life come together naturally.”
At Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, guests can enjoy a refined urban retreat in the heart of Bangkok’s historic Surawong district, where contemporary luxury blends seamlessly with the character and culture of one of the city’s most storied neighbourhoods. Renowned for its elegant Thai-inspired design and distinctive dining experiences, the hotel offers authentic local cuisine at Praya Kitchen, contemporary Cantonese flavours at Yao and handcrafted cocktails with panoramic city views at Yao Rooftop Bar. The latest addition, Kissuisen, invites diners on an immersive Japanese culinary journey through izakaya, teppanyaki, omakase and sake experiences inspired by the five elements. For relaxation and rejuvenation, guests can retreat to the 18th-floor infinity pool, Quan Spa and yoga deck overlooking the Bangkok skyline.
Just moments away, Le Méridien Bangkok reflects the district’s dynamic energy through bold design, contemporary art and immersive guest experiences. Located at the intersection of Silom and Surawong Roads, the hotel offers a stylish base for culturally curious travellers. Guests are welcomed by I-Jud, the iconic dog sculpture by Thai artist Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch, setting the tone for a stay that blends creative design with modern comfort. Distinctive accommodation, including private onsen facilities and circular beds in select rooms, is complemented by vibrant social venues such as Rolling Ribs Brew Bar & BBQ, Surawong’s destination for smoked specialities, craft beers and inventive cocktails.
“What excites me most is shaping two distinct yet complementary guest experiences. Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse blends contemporary luxury with local heritage, creating a refined sense of place through generous spaces and intuitive hospitality, while Le Méridien Bangkok embraces a creative lifestyle ethos, inspired by culture, design and modern sophistication. Together, they offer travellers two exceptional perspectives on Bangkok,” Roger adds.
As Surawong continues to evolve, Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse and Le Méridien Bangkok remain at the forefront of the district’s hospitality landscape, offering guests two unique perspectives on one of the city’s most compelling neighbourhoods.
