PARK HYATT BANGKOK CELEBRATES ITS FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY WITH ART, COMMUNITY AND SUSTAINABILITY AT HEART

Park Hyatt Bangkok ushered in the festive season with its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, a heartwarming evening that blended luxury with purpose. The celebration was designed around three core values that define the hotel’s identity: Art, Empowering Local Communities, and Sustainability, creating an experience that was not only beautiful but also meaningful and responsible.

Guests were welcomed by Angelica Aliberti, Executive Assistant Manager – Sales and Marketing, who shared the vision behind this year’s festive approach:

“Tonight is not just about lighting a tree. It’s about celebrating values that truly define who we are at Park Hyatt Bangkok, art, community and sustainability. These pillars guide us in creating experiences that inspire and make a positive impact.”

The centerpiece of the evening was a stunning Christmas tree crafted entirely from upcycled metal, a masterpiece by renowned Thai artist Saruta Kiatparkpoom (Pin), founder of Pin Metal Art. Her work, along with sculptural installations throughout the hotel, reflects the beauty of sustainability and the transformative power of art.

The event also highlighted Park Hyatt Bangkok’s commitment to empowering local communities through a partnership with AKHA MA-DE, an artisanal community from Chiang Rai recognized by UN Women and the EXO Foundation for its commitment to gender equality and community empowerment. Guests participated in an engaging macramé workshop, thoughtfully taught and led by Nathan Chocard and his partner, Nichanan A-Ngi (Nicha) from AKHA MA-DE, an Akha-born artist and entrepreneur. Each attendee received a handcrafted festive token made from recycled cotton, inspired by traditional Akha artistry—symbolizing cultural heritage and sustainable livelihoods. Additionally, departing guests were gifted with artisanal chocolate bars from Kad Kokoa, a local producer, portraying the hotel’s commitment to supporting Thai craftsmanship.

Adding to the festive spirit, Alba Santos captivated the audience with soulful jazz renditions of classic Christmas tunes, while guests enjoyed mulled white wine, spiced eggnog, culinary delights paired with Ruinart Champagne, culminating in a joyful toast of “Merry Christmas” as the tree illuminated after the countdown.

Nicha’s heartfelt speech reminded attendees of the true meaning of Christmas, gratitude, connection, and care, echoing the hotel’s and Hyatt brand’s guiding philosophy: Art & Design, Uniqueness, Community, and World of Care.

This year’s celebration marked a new chapter for Park Hyatt Bangkok, proving that luxury can be both responsible and inspiring, setting the tone for a festive season rooted in creativity, sustainability, and shared joy.
