Meliá Pattaya Hotel Launches YHI Spa and Appoints Experienced Spa Manager
Meliá Pattaya Hotel has officially unveiled its YHI Spa, a sanctuary dedicated to holistic well-being. The spa boasts a diverse menu of treatments designed to offer a range of health benefits, including the improvement of metabolism, the nervous and lymphatic systems, and the alleviation of stress, anxiety, headaches, and sleep problems.
This marks the fourth YHI Spa in Thailand, following successful launches at Meliá Koh Samui in 2020, Meliá Phuket Mai Khao in 2021, and Meliá Chiang Mai in 2022. The signature spa brand of Meliá Hotels International draws inspiration from the goddess YHI, revered by the Karraur First Nations people in Australia as the embodiment of life and light, personified by the sun.
YHI Spa at Meliá Pattaya Hotel blends ancient Asian healing wisdom with modern wellness techniques, offering a comprehensive selection of treatments encompassing massages, body scrubs and wraps, facials, and hydrotherapy.
To further enhance the spa experience, Meliá Pattaya Hotel has appointed Susan Nonthawilai as its new Spa Manager. A Thai national with over a decade of experience in hospitality wellness and a passion for leading spa therapy teams, Susan joins the hotel, which opened on February 14th this year in vibrant Pattaya, after serving as the Spa Manager at InterContinental Pattaya Resort since 2020.
Her career began as a spa receptionist at Sheraton Pattaya Resort in 2013. Her dedication and skills led to a promotion to spa supervisor at InterContinental Pattaya Resort in 2015, followed by the role of assistant spa manager at the same resort in 2018.

In her new role, Susan will oversee the daily operations of Meliá Pattaya Hotel’s YHI Spa and lead her team to achieve high standards of service and drive revenue growth. This includes the extensive spa menu she has developed, featuring massages, scrubs, wraps, facials, and hydrotherapy, all based on organic Thai wellness brand HARNN’s products.
“Susan is an exceptional operator who started her career right here in Pattaya and steadily rose through the ranks due to her unwavering dedication and results-orientated approach,” said Meliá Pattaya Hotel’s General Manager Javier Gimeno. “She has hit the ground running, opening our signature YHI Spa with a second-to-none spa menu delivered by a motivated team amid a serene, welcoming environment.”
“Leading YHI Spa is an incredible opportunity to leverage my expertise in spa management, guest service and business development to establish our spa as a go-to in Pattaya,” added Susan Nonthawilai.
The design of YHI Spa at Meliá Pattaya Hotel features four underwater-themed treatment rooms and a Thai herbal sauna. Catering to various needs, the spa offers signature treatments like the “YHI Oriental Harmony” (60, 90, and 120 minutes), a firm massage combining Swedish and traditional Thai techniques to target pressure points for muscle recovery and flexibility.
Paying tribute to Thailand, the “Siam Serenity Herbal Compress” massage utilizes a traditional Luk Pra Kob with lemongrass, camphor, turmeric, and ginger to relieve inflammation and boost blood flow. Other massage options (60 and 90 minutes) include aromatic, anti-stress, deep relief, hot stone, head, lower leg, and foot massages.
For a more indulgent experience, spa packages like the “Blue Ocean Bliss Signature Treatment” (90, 120, and 150 minutes) begin with a detox marine salt scrub, followed by yoga stretching and a massage with oil and warm seawater, concluding with a local snack and herbal drink set, emphasizing local community and sustainability through hyper-locally sourced ingredients. The “Lot of Love” couple’s spa package offers a romantic milk bath and a 60-minute YHI Oriental Harmony massage for two.
Body exfoliation, body wrap, and facial treatments are also available to nourish and brighten the skin, such as the “Yuzu Scrub and Vitiver Body Polish” and the “Ageless Facial Treatment” incorporating natural antioxidants. Hydrotherapy sessions, including the “Citrus and Salt Bath Voyage” and “Royal Rice Milk Soak,” provide relaxation, pain relief, and stress reduction.
YHI Spa’s treatments exclusively use products from organic Thai wellness brand HARNN, crafted with natural ingredients using time-honored Thai artisan methods.
Open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, Meliá Pattaya Hotel’s YHI Spa features an elegant reception area, three single treatment rooms each with shower facilities, a spa suite with bathing facilities for hydrotherapy, a Thai herbal sauna, and more.
