Inspired by the dynamic spirit of the Fire Horse Year, The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok observes the Mid-Autumn Festival with a selection of mooncakes in a presentation box whose design celebrates the powerful elegance of the horse.
Reflecting the enduring legacy of Princess Valaya Alongkorn and her deep appreciation for nature and refined craftsmanship, the horse stands as a central symbol of the collection, representing resilience, vitality, and forward momentum.
At the heart of the design, fluid golden contours trace the movement of a horse’s flowing mane, embodying grace, freedom, strength, and the promise of new horizons. Floral motifs introduce softness and organic beauty, while an embellishment of pearls adds a quiet luminosity, together evoking the image of a cultivated royal garden. Subtly layered within this composition is a chessboard-inspired structure, a nod to the Princess’s fondness for chess, symbolizing intellect, strategy, and graceful precision woven into aesthetic form.
Rendered in a sophisticated palette of jade green and deep serene blue, accented with luminous gold, the design reflects both royal elegance and emotional balance. The blue tones act as a calming counterbalance to the dynamic spirit of the Fire Horse Year, softening its vibrant, fiery energy while symbolizing clarity and inner strength within movement and transformation.
There are five individual flavors, each priced at THB 268 net per piece. The Classic flavors are Monthong Durian with Salted Egg Yolk, White Lotus Seed, and Five Whole Grains with Nut and Dried Fruit. The Signature flavors are Red Bean & Green Tea, and Black Sesame with Salted Egg Yolk.
The Athenee Signature Box contains four pieces of assorted flavors and is priced at THB 1,288 net. The Athenee Heritage Treasure is a limited-edition treasure chest featuring eight assorted mooncakes and an exclusive Matcha ceremony set, priced at THB 4,888 net per box. Arianna Caroli “Paris Box” is designed by the renowned Italian artist who is a frequent collaborator with The Athenee Hotel, Bangkok, and with four assorted pieces is priced at THB 1,888 net per box. Her design captures the timeless charm of the City of Light with intertwining blooms and vines and comes complete with a limited-edition foulard.
Fire Horse Year mooncakes will be available for pick-up starting from 1 August 2026. A special 15% early bird discount is available until 10 August 2026.
