KTC Expands Premium Lunar New Year Dining Partnerships, Projects 100% Spending Growth
The Lunar New Year remains a key indicator of Thai consumer spending, particularly among affluent customers who continue to prioritize quality dining experiences with family and business associates.
Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) expects credit card spending during the festive period to rise significantly, driven by strong demand for premium Chinese cuisine at leading hotel restaurants and well-established standalone venues. The period consistently represents one of the peak seasons for dining-related transactions, with average spending per visit among high-spending members notably higher than usual.
To capture this momentum, KTC has partnered with more than 50 premium Chinese dining establishments, including renowned hotel restaurants and prominent standalone venues in central business districts. The company is targeting a 100% year-over-year increase in total spending within this category during the 2026 Lunar New Year period.
Ms. Varitta Phatanarajta, Head of Credit Card Marketing Division at KTC, said the strategy is driven by data-led insights into member behavior.
“Our analysis shows that members strongly prefer restaurants located in central, easily accessible areas, particularly within luxury hotels and major commercial districts. These venues serve not only as spaces for family gatherings during the festive season, but also as important settings for business networking and relationship building,” she said.
Exclusive privileges for KTC members include:
Up to 30% discounts (no point redemption required) at 18 participating hotel dining venues from February 1–28, 2026
Up to 20% instant discounts at 35 leading standalone Chinese restaurants
Additional savings through point redemption or up to 15% credit rebate for KTC Credit and KTC PROUD members from February 1 to April 30, 2026
