KTC Donates Over 1,000 Used Desk Calendars for Braille Materials to Promote Inclusive Education
Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, (KTC) continues to advance its environmental and social responsibility efforts through its ongoing initiative, “Old Calendars for New Education.” The company has donated more than 1,000 used desk calendars to the Assistive Technology Center for the Blind under the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of H.M. the Queen. The donated materials will be transformed into Braille books and learning aids for visually impaired student nationwide.
Mrs. Sudprathana Damrongchaitham, Head of Human Resources & Organization Development Division at KTC, stated “KTC is committed to the efficient use of resources and to supporting education for persons with disabilities. A single used desk calendar can be transformed into many new learning opportunities. We will continue expanding this initiative in collaboration with various partners and would like to invite organizations and the public to donate unused desk calendars. Together, we can promote equal access to education while reducing waste. Donations can be delivered directly to the Assistive Technology Center for the Blind in Nonthaburi.”
Ms. Chanidapa Petchrak, Director of the Educational Technology Center for the Blind, added:
“The donated desk calendars significantly support our ability to produce Braille books and tactile learning materials more efficiently. Desk calendars are made from thick, durable paper that withstands pressure, making them ideal for Braille embossing and tactile diagram production. They help reduce our material costs—one of the most substantial expenses in producing educational resources for the visually impaired – especially since the center must produce a large volume of materials every year to ensure equal learning opportunities.”
Guidelines for Donated Desk Calendars
To ensure suitability for Braille production, donated calendars should meet the following criteria:

No need to remove spiral bindings or separate components; the center will process them.
All types and all years accepted; all can be repurposed for learning materials.
Donations accepted from individuals or organizations — from 1 calendar upward.
Please bundle or pack calendars in boxes for easier transport and storage.
