Khum Hom Unveils Thai – Japanese Culinary Dialogue enhanced with Artisanal Sake Pairing
Five-course experience blending regional Thai flavours with premium Japanese sake
Khum Hom at Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok introduces an exceptional new dining experience that bridges two of Asia’s most celebrated culinary traditions. From now until 31st October 2025, guests can embark on a carefully curated five-course culinary dialogue that pairs authentic regional Thai cuisine with premium artisanal Japanese sake.

This thoughtfully crafted menu represents a genuine exploration of cross-cultural harmony, where the bold, complex flavours of traditional Thai dishes meet the refined sophistication of expertly selected sake. Each pairing has been meticulously designed to enhance and complement the distinctive characteristics of both cuisines, creating an entirely new dimension of flavour discovery.

The experience begins with Yum Tua Hoi Shell, paired with the delicate Masumi Junmai Ginjo Shiro White Sake from the prestigious 350-year-old Masumi brewery in Nagano. The sake offers subtle fruity notes with a clean, smooth finish that perfectly complements the opening dish.
The journey continues with Kradook Mhoo Sauce Hang Lay, expertly matched with KAYA Masumi Junmai Brown Sake, which presents fuller-bodied earthiness and toasted rice notes that beautifully balance the dish’s rich, complex flavours. The third course, Khao Yum Dan Tai, is accompanied by Bojimaya Junmai Muroka Nama Genshu Sake, a robust offering from a small artisanal brewery in Gifu Prefecture that delivers full umami depth with characteristic acidity.

For the fourth course, Gaeng Tepo Mhoo Yang pairs with the intriguing Kinmon Akita Plum Sake Shizuku, a flavoured sake offering complex sweetness balanced with plum sourness – ideal for enhancing spicy dishes. The experience concludes with the beloved Thai dessert Khao Niew Mamuang, complemented by Kozaemon Shiroku Junmai Kabosu Sake, featuring the refreshing acidity of Japanese lime that provides a perfect finale to this remarkable culinary journey.

“This menu represents our commitment to creating genuine experiences that honour both culinary traditions whilst offering our guests something truly extraordinary,” said Rubel Miah, General Manager of Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok. “We’ve approached this collaboration with deep respect for both Thai and Japanese culinary artistry, resulting in pairings that reveal new dimensions of flavour in familiar dishes.”
Beyond the set menu experience, Khum Hom offers an expertly curated à la carte sake selection, allowing guests to design their own pairing adventure. This flexibility reflects the restaurant’s commitment to personalised service and individual preferences whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and authenticity.
