Five Years of Excellence: Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort Marks 5th Anniversary and Looks Ahead to a Bright Future
Having opened at the height of the pandemic, the hotel’s owner Saharat Jivavisitnont and GM Daryn Hudson reflect on the challenges, experiences, and milestones that shaped their success
As Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort celebrates its 5th Anniversary this October, this stylish seafront hotel’s Owner and leadership team reflects on the challenges and achievements of the past five years, while embracing the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. First opening its doors in October 2020, it was one of the few hotels to launch during the global pandemic – representing the commitment of the owners, Jee Teng Hospitality, and Marriott International, to the long-term prosperity of Phuket.

Mr. Saharat Jivavisitnont, Executive Director of Jee Teng Hospitality, says: “Opening the resort amid the pandemic was never easy. Believing in the brand, the asset, and the team gave us the confidence and trust that having the right brand in the right location with the right GM will help us to achieve excellence. The caliber of Daryn Hudson and his team has led our resort to attain countless accolades across all disciplines. We are immensely proud of the team and deeply appreciate their dedication and commitment to continuously going above and beyond. Without every one of you, nothing would have been possible.”
Mr. Daryn Hudson, the resort’s General Manager, reveals the operational challenges he faced during these opening months – and how he and his team overcame them.
“Opening was unlike any other journey. We launched at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when many hotels were closing their doors – yet we were preparing to open ours. The challenges were everywhere. But instead of seeing these as setbacks, we saw them as opportunities to build resilience and character from day one. As a team – including Jee Teng Hospitality – we learned to innovate, adapt, and focus on creating a culture of care, safety, and belonging for our associates and our first guests. That spirit carried us through the hardest days and became the foundation of who we are today,” Daryn comments.
As tourism restarted, Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort started to enjoy the benefits of its team spirit – and the quality of its product and services. Guests began streaming through the doors, and positive feedback started flowing. With an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 (after more than 1,000 reviews), the hotel regularly wins the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award, and it was named as “Hotel of the Year” at Marriott’s APEC General Manager Conference.
These awards are only one part of the hotel’s success, however. Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort is also proud of the contribution it has made to its destination. Through his role as Chair of the Thailand-Cambodia Marriott Business Council, Daryn was instrumental in launching the Marriott Bonvoy Charity Golf Day, which has now raised almost THB 8 million to improve the lives of local children, while its partnership with Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) has donated thousands of meals to underprivileged people in Phuket, while also significantly reducing food waste.
“Our true milestones are the moments when our guests tell us they feel at home, when our associates grow into leaders, and when our community benefits from our sustainability and charity projects. Those achievements remind us that success is not only about numbers – it’s about the positive impact we leave on people and the planet. That is what makes this journey so meaningful, and it is what I am most proud of as we celebrate our 5th Anniversary,” Daryn adds.
Looking ahead, Khun Saharat reveals that Jee Teng Hospitality is planning to build upon the company’s 30+ years of distinction in the hotel industry with the launch of a sister resort: the 600-key Sheraton Nai Harn Beach. “With numerous projects on the horizon, our company is committed to ‘transcending the ordinary’ to develop exceptional assets and redefine excellence,” he says.
At Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort, guests can look forward to a full month of “High Five to Five” celebrations to mark the hotel’s 5th Anniversary, as it says ‘thank you’ to everyone who has contributed to its past, present and future.
“As we celebrate our 5th Anniversary, my heart is full of gratitude. This journey has been possible only because of the people who stood with us every step of the way. To our owners, Jee Teng Hospitality, your trust and guidance gave us the foundation to succeed and the courage to grow. To our guests, thank you for choosing us, for trusting us, and for allowing us to be part of your memories here in Phuket. To our associates, you are the soul of this hotel. This anniversary is not just a celebration of the past five years – it is a promise that we will continue to learn, grow, and serve with heart for many more years to come,” Daryn concludes.
