Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort Unveils ‘Sala Lakorn: A Journey into the Soul of Siam’

A New Era of Theatrical Dining

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort is delighted to announce the grand opening of Sala Lakorn (Sala Lakorn), a spectacular new dinner theatre and restaurant on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Launching on 1 November 2025, Sala Lakorn promises an immersive cultural and culinary experience, featuring an exquisite contemporary Thai performance choreographed by the highly acclaimed Kru Nai – Manop Meejamrat, a prestigious Silpathorn Award artist in Performing Arts from the Thai Ministry of Culture.

The unique venue is set to captivate both local and international guests every evening with its riverfront buffet, complemented by a magnificent special performance from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

The heart of the Sala Lakorn experience is ‘The Eternal Siam’ a bespoke theatrical masterpiece created exclusively for the venue by the visionary Kru Nai – Manop Meejamrat.

This compelling work blends contemporary Thai dance with powerful musical compositions, taking the audience on a journey through the timeless beauty and spirit of Siam, from its glorious past to its vibrant present. The performance is divided into five inspiring acts, drawing its creative inspiration from the name ‘Anantara’ itself, which means ‘the endless flow of water’ or ‘endless bonding’. It is a promise of an unending experience of love, happiness, and exquisite beauty.

Each act celebrates the values of water, land, and culture that define the kingdom, with every movement and musical note meticulously designed to mesmerise and enchant the audience.

The acts include:
The Prelude: Behold The Flower Queen (Yon Chom Bupphamalee Rachini): A captivating introduction by the Flower Queen, welcoming guests into an evening of enchantment.

Act 1: The River Goddess (Tewi Haeng Sai Tara): A sacred narrative dedicated to ‘Mae Khongkha’, the Goddess of Water. This act is a harmonious fusion of powerful opera vocals and graceful contemporary choreography, complete with elaborate costumes reflecting the river’s beauty and abundance.

Act 2: The Marvel of Nang Yai and Echoes of the Elephant (Mahatsachan Nang Yai lae Rang Ngao Haeng Aiyara): A tribute to Thailand’s cherished cultural heritage, featuring a creatively modern rendition of the ancient ‘Nang Yai’ shadow puppet theatre, and a return to a pivotal historical moment with a majestic elephant herding scene.

Act 3: Flowing Traditions (Sueb San Prapeni): A lively celebration of Thailand’s four distinct regional cultures and traditions, united by the Chao Phraya River. The segment features the joyful Plaeng E-Saew folk music, inspired by the work of Khun Somying Sriprajan, heiress of National Artist Mae Khwanjit Sriprajan.

Act 4: The Royal River (Sai Tara Haeng Rachun): A grand celebration of the profound connection between Thai people, the monarchy, and water, featuring a contemporary adaptation of the breathtaking Royal Barge Procession and its magnificent Suphannahong barge.

Act 5: A Golden Finale (Patchim Bot An Rueangrong): A powerful and triumphant conclusion, celebrating Thailand’s rich cultural heritage. The River Goddess returns, leading the audience into a future that cherishes the promise of an eternal cultural legacy.

Complementing the spectacular show is a sumptuous International Dinner Buffet, thoughtfully curated to blend authentic Thai culinary heritage with beloved international classics. Highlights include:
Premium Seafood BBQ Station: Featuring fresh, grilled river prawns, scallops, and squid with a variety of delectable sauces.
Fresh Seafood Selection: Offering blue crab, prawns, and Fine de Claire oysters.
