137 Pillars House Chiang Mai Opens Festive Season with Chef Arnaud Dunand

Continuing its evolution as one of northern Thailand’s most distinctive heritage retreats, 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai unveils a festive programme inspired by the rich history of one of the city’s most storied addresses. Set within the grounds of the historic Borneo House, the boutique retreat will launch its 2026 holiday celebrations with a culinary weekend featuring acclaimed French chef Arnaud Dunand.

Taking place on 11 and 12 December 2026, the event marks the opening chapter of A Season Through Time: Festive Chapters from The House, a series of seasonal experiences inspired by the property’s heritage and enduring connection to Chiang Mai’s cultural landscape.

Chef Arnaud began his culinary journey in Savoie in the French Alps, where his passion for cooking developed from a young age. He trained in some of France’s most respected kitchens before bringing his culinary expertise to Bangkok, where he has successfully led his team to Michelin-star recognition.

Recognised as one of the region’s leading French chefs, Chef Arnaud draws on his Alpine heritage and classical French training to create cuisine rooted in precision, seasonality and a deep respect for ingredients. Today, at Maison Dunand in Bangkok, he presents his distinctive interpretation of “Cuisine of the Alps”, combining the flavours and traditions of his homeland with a contemporary approach.

The weekend begins with an intimate cocktail reception beneath the property’s historic teak pavilion, where guests will have the opportunity to meet Chef Arnaud while enjoying refined canapés accompanied by free-flow wines, cocktails and Champagne.

The following evening, Chef Arnaud will present a seven-course dinner created exclusively for the occasion, showcasing his contemporary interpretation of French gastronomy. Reflecting his signature style of technical mastery and understated elegance, the menu will be served amid the tranquil setting of 137 Pillars House, where mature tropical gardens and historic architecture create a uniquely atmospheric backdrop.

“Our recent recognition with two MICHELIN Keys represents a significant moment in the continuing evolution of 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai,” said Arnaud Béril, General Manager of 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai. “The arrival of Chef Arnaud Dunand provides a fitting opening to our festive season. As a chef whose career has been shaped at the highest levels of French gastronomy, he brings the calibre, creativity and sense of occasion that befits a two MICHELIN Key hotel.”

The cocktail reception on 11 December  is priced from THB 1,899++ per person, including free-flow wine, cocktails, beer and soft drinks.
Dinner on 12 December is priced from THB 2,999++ per person.
