Escape to Con Dao Islands

Located off the mainland of Vietnam, around 140 miles from Ho Chi Minh City, the serene islands, Con Dao is waiting for travellers to explore and enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of the islands.

As isolated from the mainland for over age to be under the French colonial and then became the national park, the islands have developed their beauty without any disturbances. Con Dao islands have fauna that cannot find in a short boat trip away. Forest, mountains, coral reefs and sandy beaches make these islands a real gem of Vietnam.

The main island is Con Son, the only one island that has people inhabiting. The island was once the site of French-run prisons. Most of the prisons are now living in Con Son town where the visitors can visit the prison cells and the museum. Apart from the town, the island is also rich in unspoilt beaches where the visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming and dining on fresh seafood.

The popular activities on Con Dao islands are Island-hopping and diving. The visitor can enjoy exploring the islets and spot various sea creatures such as stingrays, barracudas, moray eels, and dugongs.

To travel at Con Dao islands, the prime time is during the dry season (November to February) but if you want to see the turtles nesting on Hon Bay Canh Island, visit between June and September. For the divers, February to June is the ideal time.
