ong Kong, 29 March 2018 – Wharf Real Estate Investment Company Limited (“Wharf REIC”, stock code: 1997) earned a coveted honour at the 2018 RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Awards when its project team overseeing the conservation of the historic Murray Building was named Refurbishment / Revitalisation Team of the Year. Selected by a jury panel of 13 leading industry professionals from Hong Kong and overseas, the award celebrates the company’s innovative efforts to transform Hong Kong’s historic Murray Building into a contemporary international luxury hotel.

The Murray, Hong Kong is the flagship of Niccolo Hotels, an exclusive collection of luxury hotels with in desirable city locations. A uniquely Hong Kong icon, the former government building underwent a high-profile transformation designed by Foster + Partners, the award-winning British international studio for architecture, urbanism and integrated design. Located in the heart of Central, the hotel features 336 expansive guest rooms and suites, boasts an understated, contemporary style and offers enviable views of the city skyline and neighbouring Hong Kong Park.

The Murray offers a distinguished sense of arrival via its private forecourt, fronted by Murray Lane. Upon entry they are met by the historic Old and Valuable Tree, (OVT) Cassia Javanica var. Indochinensis, and entry to the building is through its majestic 11-meter tall arches.

The Hotel has been receiving numerous enquiries and bookings, reaching peak levels at the end of March, with The Murray, Hong Kong being the official hotel partner for Art Basel, the city’s premier art fair.
