FIRST EVER RECOGNITION FOR MACAU IN ASIA’S 50 BEST BARS
The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge is the first ever bar in Macau to be recognized in the prestigious annual list for Asia
Macau, China – May 4, 2018 – In a shining first for Macau and The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Asia, The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge is listed as one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018. This marks The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge’s first ever appearance on the list – one of the highest accolades for cocktail and bar culture. This is also the first time Asia’s 50 Best Bars recognized any bar in Macau.
The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge is well-loved in Macau for its signature cocktails and sophisticated setting in which day blends seamlessly into night. The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge has earned a reputation as the definitive destination for cocktail and lounge culture, and initiated many first-to-Macau collaborations since its opening in 2015, such as partnering with Singapore’s headline-grabbing modern urban Izakaya restaurant Neon Pigeon for a cocktail-pairing dinner; and created unique cocktails with renowned guest mixologists from London, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Apart from partnerships, The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge also crafts exclusive cocktails from rare ingredients through its own culinary team. Mr. Maxim Schulte, mixologist at The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge, was recognized as the Global Winner at Beefeater MIXLDN 7, the world’s biggest gin-based cocktail competition in March 2018 against mixologists from 31 countries.
From award-winning guest mixologists, to exclusive cocktails crafted from rare ingredients, to unique dining and cocktail collaborations, The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge continually creates innovative cocktails and enhances the exceptional bar experience for guests from around the globe.
Asia’s 50 Best Bars is the first regional event created with the purpose of showcasing the best and most innovative talent in the industry across the region. Winners are determined by over 200 globetrotting members of Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy, drinks media, mixology experts and bars consultants. The Academy spans 14 countries and dozens of cities across the continent, reflecting the relative development and importance of bar scenes in different locations.
“Winning a place on Asia’s 50 Best Bars is a strong recognition that The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge is at the forefront of cocktail and bar culture in Macau, and the region,” says Mr. Rauf Malik, Vice President of Operations at JW Marriott Hotel Macau and The Ritz-Carlton, Macau. “We are honored to be listed amongst our esteemed peers in Asia, it is a wonderful testament to the exceptional level of service provided by the Ladies and Gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton, Macau. We will continue to provide guests with an exquisite, world-class bar and lounge experience and unparalleled service right in the heart of Macau.”
