AirAsia Adds Direct Flights from Don Mueang to Shanghai to cater to soaring demand Guests can now choose from 2 Bangkok Airports (Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi) for convenience and on-time assurance

Thai AirAsia (FD) has launched a new route, flying direct from Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok to the city of Shanghai, China for the first time ever. Operated with an Airbus A320, the approximately 4-and-a-half-hour flight is set to begin service 2 February 2024 and will be available 5 times a week (every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with a promotional fare starting from only 3,355 THB per trip. Book 20 – 31 December 2023 for travel from 2 February – 30 March 2024.

Currently the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi – Shanghai route is served by Thai AirAsia X (XJ), and with the new Don Mueang-Shanghai, guests will now have more options for their travel convenience.

The city is also a top pick for tourists who indulge into photography, thanks to its impressive architecture, charming cafes as well as vibrant shopping havens. For lifestyle tourists, the city perfectly blends Eastern and Western culture, all easily reached using its convenient public transport system that boasts an intuitive payment system.

“Currently, direct flights to Shanghai are served by Thai AirAsia X flying from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Our new addition from Don Mueang Airport will give travelers even more choice. Whichever airport passengers choose however, they can be sure of we will provide them on-time service,” Mr. Santisuk said.

Thai AirAsia (FD) currently serves 11 direct routes to China, flying Don Mueang to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Changsha, Xi’an, Shantou, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu and Shanghai. Thai AirAsia X (XJ) serves 1 direct route to China, Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) – Shanghai.
