Let’s gather your friend, your love ones or your pet, pack your camera and tripod and go out to enjoy the beauty of sunrise at these eight places in Singapore.
Sembawang Park’s beachside area is a best place to picnic, barbecuing and fishing. If you go on the early morning and head to seashore at the end of the park, you will find the sun-up over the horizon. Alternatively, walking along the beach and take the photo with the gradient of orange and blue sky dyed by the sun ray.
Lower Seletar Reservoir Park
During the day, Lower Seletar Reservoir Park is the place where people come to work out and hang out. There has a fishing jetty, kayak rentals and water park. In the early morning, the heritage bridge is the best point to see the sunrise. If you are lucky, you may see moon aligns with sun. Alternatively, the fishing jetty is another place to take the photo of the dawn. There you can photograph sunrise with the boat and jetty in the same frame.
East Coast Park
East Coast Park has cycle and walking paths, bicycle and rollerblade rentals, skate park and barbeque and camping area. It is not far from the Changi Airport. Facing the sea, you’ll see sunrise on your left and sunset on your right. The Bedok jetty and the breakwater near the carpark F2 are the best places to see and photograph of the sunrise.
Changi Beach Park
Changi beach park is located far from the city. It is one of the oldest beaches in Singapore. If you want to escape from crowded people, Changi Beach Park is the best choice. The best part of taking photo at Changi beach park is that you can snap the silhouette of flying plane with the rising of the sun.
At Marina Bay, you can capture the frame of Merlion, a mythical beast in the foreground and the sun rising in the background at the Merlion Park or walking towards One Fullerton to frame the silhouettes of the Flyer and Marina Bay Sands with the sun rising.
Lorong Halus Bridge
At Punggol Waterway, there has a bridge named Sunrise Bridge which is aptly place to capture the frame of sun rising. But if you walk further to the Lorong Halus Bridge, you will get the great frame of the sunrise with the red metal bridge.
Gardens by the Bay
To capture to sunrise moment at the Gardens, you need to take the escalators to the top of the overhead bridge to Marina Bay Sands, point your camera to the Gardens and wait for the moment that the sun climbing over the Supertrees. Otherwise, head to Dragonfly Lake in the Gardens to capture the sunrise framed by the Supertrees, domes and their reflections on the water.
Marina Barrage is the dam built across between Marina East and Marina South. Marina Barrage is not only the best place to capture the sun rising moment only. It is also a place to picnic, fly a kite and snap the frame of kite flying on the breeze.
